Nicky Sciortino started practicing yoga as a way to support and protect her body from injury during marathon training and competing in jiu jitsu, but once she saw the mental benefits to the practice, she was all in. Years later, Nicky sees yoga as a key to longevity and keeping the body and mind both strong and malleable. She completed her 200 hour YTT in 2017 and since then has been certified in Asanas for Autism, providing yoga for children with autism and diverse needs, and Warriors at Ease, which provides yoga to the veteran population. Nicky has taught yoga in the Bay Area of California, Hawaii, San Diego, and now her permanent home in Tucson. She has led yoga in martial arts gyms, yoga studios, military bases, parks, and various public venues. She enjoys teaching a variety of yoga formats, as they all serve a purpose. She began teaching power yoga, vinyasa flow, and yin, and most recently has grown to appreciate restorative yoga for all the therapeutic benefits. Nicky loves to teach all bodies and minds, including special needs populations, athletes, and anyone who feels like they don’t fit the “typical” yoga body.
